Hi! This blog is a great place to see highlights from weddings, which I think is more helpful than viewing a portfolio comprised of random favorites from a million different weddings. Please keep in mind that I deliver around 1,000 edited photos per wedding, so these posts are just 50-ish photos I liked from these weddings. Let me know if you'd like to see an entire wedding gallery—I'm happy to send you a link!
Kaitie and Zach were married at Valley of the Eagles Event Center on a windy October day. It was a fantastic day celebrating these two funny and kind lovebirds.
When they met in sixth grade, Kaitie fell in love with Zach. They had the typical middle school fling, which ended but rekindled on Zach’s 16th birthday. They dated through high school and college, and while on a memorable trip to Jamaica, Kaitie thought he’d ask her to marry him. However, after a quick chat and her realizing he didn’t have an engagement ring, they just enjoyed the time in paradise. A few days later, he asked her to take an early morning stroll and get sunrise pictures. While taking in the beauty of the beach and ocean, Zach asked her if she was sure she wanted to marry him. It was inevitable that she would say yes when he proposed, and she realized then that he indeed had an engagement ring.
Valley of the Eagles Event Center in Elyria, Ohio, is a premier venue centrally located between Cleveland and Sandusky. This prestigious location has recently undergone a spectacular renovation. With scenic views of the Black River and golf course, this site’s updates now feature floor-to-ceiling quarry rock walls, natural cherry wood lined ceilings, large windows, and roll-up doors connecting the indoor/outdoor spaces, as well as in-house catering. Your Valley of the Eagles wedding also offers a separate bridal suite and groom’s lounge. With a modern rustic twist, the outdoor space seats 450, and the indoor capacity is 280. Many amenities and packages are available.
Once Kaitie and Zach were ready for their big day, they enjoyed a first look while their closest loved ones gathered in the parking lot to watch. How they looked at each other with love and their onlookers sharing in the emotional moment was truly magical. This phenomenal couple’s wedding party was so welcoming and funny, which set the tone for their perfect day. After the first look, we ventured around the venue and captured some gorgeous fall portraits. They had me guide them into natural poses because they felt awkward in front of the camera, which they weren’t, and wanted direction without being cheesy.
Their ceremony was lovely in front of a large window with a trellis covered with flowing drapery and the sunlight beaming in. In Zach’s suit, bridesmaid dresses, and throughout the reception space, green tones were a prominent theme of the day. After the toasts that brought tears and laughter, the celebration began and lasted throughout the evening.
Kaitie and Zach’s wedding day was a dream come true! Enjoy some of my favorites from their wedding at Valley of the Eagles Event Center!
