Hi! This blog is a great place to see highlights from weddings, which I think is more helpful than viewing a portfolio comprised of random favorites from a million different weddings. Please keep in mind that I deliver around 1,000 edited photos per wedding, so these posts are just 50-ish photos I liked from these weddings. Let me know if you'd like to see an entire wedding gallery—I'm happy to send you a link!
When Lindsay and Tim told me they wanted their engagement session to feel like a night out downtown—with a little bit of glam, a little bit of grit, and absolutely no stiff posing—I knew we were about to have a great time.
These two wanted a shoot that felt authentic to them: playful, spontaneous, and stylish. Think downtown streets, cozy corners in a cocktail bar, and plenty of flash to bring that cool, editorial energy.
We started off in the heart of the city, and E. 4th street was hopping. Yes, I worked a little Photoshop magic and made it look like we had the street to ourselves! Lindsay rocked a sleek outfit that screamed city chic, and Tim kept it cool and classic. We wandered around, paused under neon signs, and let the city be the backdrop to their chemistry. At the end of the session, we headed away from the bars to escape the chaos.
I incorporated a few Vogue-esque poses, but we focused on movement, laughter, and connection. I gave them prompts instead of poses, and the result was a session that felt like them just hanging out—flirty, fun, and full of energy.
After E. 4th Street, we ducked into a couple bars. The dim lighting made for the perfect cozy setting. We played with direct flash here, leaning into that modern, edgy look—think fashion editorial meets intimate date night.
Lindsay and Tim cozied up, ordered their go-to drinks, and just hung out together, requiring minimal direction from me. These were some of my favorite moments of the night: the genuine laughs, stolen glances, and the kind of connection you can’t fake.
We leaned into direct flash photography to give their photos that punchy, edgy look they wanted. It added a bold, candid edge to the entire shoot—exactly what they envisioned. Nothing polished or overly perfect—just real moments, frozen in that downtown energy.
Lindsay and Tim’s session was a reminder that your engagement photos don’t have to follow any rules. Want to stroll the city, sip cocktails, and laugh through the whole thing? Fill out my contact form, and let’s do it! Your session should feel like you.
