Hi! This blog is a great place to see highlights from weddings, which I think is more helpful than viewing a portfolio comprised of random favorites from a million different weddings. Please keep in mind that I deliver around 1,000 edited photos per wedding, so these posts are just 50-ish photos I liked from these weddings. Let me know if you'd like to see an entire wedding gallery—I'm happy to send you a link!
It was a sunny June day for Jon and Sarah’s Columbia Ballroom Wedding.
They are such a fun and enjoyable couple that met online! They shared this emotionally special day at the premier Columbia Station wedding venue.
This countryside venue in the greater Cleveland and Akron area exudes rustic elegance and country charm. The vintage ballroom is the perfect place to hold your large or intimate wedding. The Columbia Ballroom, a third-generation business, has hosted many magnificent and unique events since 1930. The 9,000-square-foot space features beautiful chandeliers and stunning woodwork and provides indoor and outdoor space for your wedding.
Sarah and her bridal party got ready in the bridal room at the Columbia Ballroom. This space provided an excellent area for them to prepare for the big day and enjoy some girl time. As they were getting ready, I took full advantage of the time to photograph Sarah’s details, which included her adorable Betsey Johnson Halo Clear Pearl Pumps.
Jon and Sarah’s wedding day was filled with emotions. Sarah’s father passed away the month before their wedding. Although it was tough for them to continue their wedding plans, they know he would’ve wanted them to continue their dream of getting married. It was a tender moment as Sarah’s uncle, her father’s brother, walked her down the aisle. As Jon saw his beautiful bride walk toward him at the lovely floral decorated wooden arbor, he gasped by her beauty in anticipation of their union.
After the ceremony, the wedding party made their way to Jon and Sarah and expressed their congratulations with a group hug and lots of laughter and good times. It was easy to see the happiness they all had for them! As the guests entered the Columbia ballroom for the celebration, we made our way through family and wedding party photos.
Jon and Sarah entered the reception and enjoyed a just married dance, cake-cutting, and meaningful yet funny toasts from loved ones. Sarah’s an artist and made cardboard cutouts of her and Jon because they knew they’d be too busy to enjoy the photo booth and knew guests would want to take photos with them. Needless to say, they were a big hit!
A family dance was held instead of a father-daughter dance, which was a special moment for everyone. My favorite part of their big day was seeing the love surrounding them in the middle of their grief. We ended the evening by capturing stunning golden hour pictures.
Because I embrace natural posing and candid photography, a colleague friend of Sarah’s recommended me as a wedding photographer. Congratulations Jon and Sarah, your wedding was so beautiful!
