Hi! This blog is a great place to see highlights from weddings, which I think is more helpful than viewing a portfolio comprised of random favorites from a million different weddings. Please keep in mind that I deliver around 1,000 edited photos per wedding, so these posts are just 50-ish photos I liked from these weddings. Let me know if you'd like to see an entire wedding gallery—I'm happy to send you a link!
You’ve walked down the aisle, said your “I do’s,” and now it’s time for your wedding kiss at the altar! Because this moment between you is a once-in-a-lifetime moment, I wanted to share some Wedding Kiss Tips to make sure we get that perfect photo of your first kiss as a married couple.
One of my first kiss tips would be to have your officiant move off to the side before your kiss. While they probably know to do this, briefly bringing this up at the rehearsal is a good idea.
As silly as it may sound, consider practicing your wedding kiss before your big day. Do a few practice rounds to figure out any awkward movements you might experience, like what to do with your hands. Make sure not to leave them hanging off to your sides; instead, hug each other or hold hands while kissing.
It’s wise to determine how long to hold the kiss. You don’t want to just get a quick peck on the cheek or lips, but you also don’t need a super long kiss that’ll make you or your guests feel weird. I suggest holding the kiss for at least three seconds. Obviously, I don’t expect you to count, but I want you to be aware of this, so your photographer has enough time to get those amazing shots!
Although these wedding kiss tips may seem like a lot to remember, make sure you live in the moment! Yes, you have family and friends watching you seal the deal of becoming a married couple, but remember to be natural with each other and just be yourselves as you usually do. I also suggest not surprising each other with anything, like your partner deciding to dip you at the last minute. It may seem like an exciting move, but it could bring on a not-so-smooth reaction. Therefore, just be sure you’re both on board with whatever the plan may be!
One last tip is to smooch again at the end of the aisle. This second kiss moment can be more dramatic and fun and lead you out of the ceremony with beaming smiles! You’ll feel more relaxed with not so many eyes on you, and it’s also a great photo moment, especially if the first kiss was short and sweet. I always love when I have my couples stop for this moment because you can see all of the guests in the background celebrating!
I hope my Wedding Kiss Tips have given you some things to remember for your wedding day. No matter what, just remember to lean in for an awesome first kiss!
