When winter in Cleveland throws a curveball, sometimes the best moments happen in the unexpected. Jack and Claire’s engagement session was a perfect example of that—proof that even when plans change, magic still unfolds.

A Change of Plans

Originally, we planned to meet inside The Arcade to escape the cold, but when we arrived, it was packed with people, making it impossible for a cozy, intimate session. So, we pivoted. Instead of staying indoors, we braved the freezing temperatures (and snow!) and took a stroll around downtown Cleveland.

Iconic Backdrops: Mall B & The Cityscape

We spent the majority of our time in Mall B of Cleveland. Even in the winter chill, it offered breathtaking views of Cleveland, including the Cleveland Browns Stadium in the distance, adding a touch of hometown pride to the backdrop. The mix of urban architecture and open space made for the perfect setting.

A Special Stop at Saint Clair Ballroom

To warm up, we popped into Saint Clair Ballroom (with permission, of course!), Jack and Claire’s future wedding venue. Getting to capture them in the space where they’ll begin their official FOREVER made this session even more meaningful. The ballroom’s elegant and timeless atmosphere was the perfect complement to their classy style, and it gave us a glimpse of how stunning their wedding day will be.

Why I Love Downtown Cleveland Engagement Sessions

I say this all the time, but some of my favorite engagement sessions happen when we have a loose plan and just explore together. The city always offers something unexpected—whether it’s a hidden alleyway with the best lighting, a skyline view that takes your breath away, or a spontaneous moment that turns into the best photo of the day.
