I met with Katey and Ian on a beautiful September day for their Cleveland Engagement Photos.

This adorable couple met online when he was visiting Cleveland for work. Ian is originally from Louisiana but now works for the Detroit Tigers. He and Katey reside in my home state of Michigan.

These two are getting married next year at one of my favorite venues, City Hall. As a Cleveland Wedding Photographer, I love meeting my couples before their wedding day. It helps us get to know each other better, and they can get used to being in front of the camera. During their session, I lost my cell phone for about 10 minutes, which was horrible then, but now we share that connection and have a good laugh about it. They found me on Instagram and loved my joyful imagery!

Taking Katey and Ian’s downtown Cleveland engagement photos was a dream! Ian was set on wearing his pair of wine-colored plants, so Katey built her outfit around that, and their vibe matched the downtown aesthetic superbly.

I love when a couple trusts my vision completely for their photos. We wandered around downtown Cleveland, and the buildings with stone and brick made for terrific backdrops. At the time of day we met up, we found spots with full shade, which allowed Katey and Ian not to have to squint or have the sun totally beat down on them. However, while exploring, we found a gorgeous spot where the sun peaked through a couple of buildings, making the water from the fountain stand out and sparkle. We even got some fun sun flares!

As a Cleveland Wedding Photographer, I take it upon myself to know the best places for photo sessions. Downtown Cleveland offers many incredible places and elements to include in a couple’s photos. I also love to take my couples up to a rooftop. These photos always turn out amazing, especially when the sun is glowing behind them. Needless to say, I’m pretty obsessed with these!

Katey and Ian are the sweetest couple, and I can’t wait until their 2023 wedding!
