Hi! This blog is a great place to see highlights from weddings, which I think is more helpful than viewing a portfolio comprised of random favorites from a million different weddings. Please keep in mind that I deliver around 1,000 edited photos per wedding, so these posts are just 50-ish photos I liked from these weddings. Let me know if you'd like to see an entire wedding gallery—I'm happy to send you a link!
I LOVED being part of Scott and Katherine’s summer wedding in Chagrin Falls! Katherine is classy and sophisticated, and Scott is a lovable goofball—and they complement each other perfectly. I photographed Katherine’s sister Laura’s wedding just five weeks before this one. I grew really close to their family, and it brought me infinite joy to be around all those people who love each other so, so much.
Moments before Katherine put on her dress, she read a letter that Scott had written for her. It was romantic AND hilarious, just like I knew it’d be. Once Katherine had her dress on, we lined her bridesmaids up for a big reveal. Their smiles lit up the room; they were so genuinely in awe of how beautiful their friend looked. Side note: Katherine allowed her bridesmaids to choose their own bridal dresses in a particular pink shade so they wouldn’t be stuck wearing a dress they didn’t like or feel comfortable in—I’ve been seeing this a lot lately, and I love it.
Scott and Katherine got married at St. Joan of Arc, as this is the church Katherine grew up in. After they officially became Mr. and Mrs., we headed to the reception venue, Chagrin Valley Country Club. There was so much laughter and so many tears of happiness throughout the evening. Everything about their wedding day was elegant and sophisticated—and it really was just a perfect day!
What better way to end a July wedding than with fireworks?! Katherine’s parents surprised the couple with a legit fireworks display at the end of the night. Scott and Katherine were both completely surprised, and when I remember their wedding day, this is what I’ll think of SECOND—right after Gram getting the party started on the dance floor!
I’m thrilled that I photographed their summer wedding in Chagrin Falls! It was important for me to capture their wedding day differently than I did Katherine’s sister’s wedding, and I enjoyed the challenge of using different angles and poses. It was an honor being a part of both weddings; I’m going to miss this whole family!
